A Sailing Ship
This multi-colored scrimshaw is on an Eskimo artifact of fossilized walrus tusk. Note the horizontal lines at the top left. This is where Eskimos used it to sharpen bone needles before trading it to be scrimmed. I bought this piece in San Francisco. The artist is L. McCaediy, but the name is difficult to read and I probably have it wrong. Please let me know if you know the real name.
